Today’s reading from Deuteronomy is probably  THEEEE. MOST. IMPORTANT. scripture in all of Judaism. Sh’ma Yis’ra’eil Adonai Eloheinu Adonai echad. Hear, Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One. It is recited by Jews every morning and every night, and it is repeated throughout Jewish prayer services.
